Packed lunch magic with ONYX Cookware – Inspiration for back to school

Madpakke-magi med ONYX Cookware – Inspiration til skolestart

The start of school is just around the corner – and that means new routines, alarm clocks ringing far too early… and packed lunches to prepare every single day.

But packed lunches don't have to be boring or take ages to make. With the right kitchen utensils and a little planning, you can put together easy, healthy and varied lunches – even on the busiest weekdays.

Here are our best tips – and two easy recipes – for packed lunches that are both filling and exciting.

1. Meal prep smarter with the Multicooker or Air Fryer

You can save plenty of time by preparing several lunchbox components at once – right in your ONYX Cookware Multicooker or Air Fryer.

Here are some ideas:

  • Mini omelettes in muffin moulds (steamed or baked in the Multicooker)

  • Vegetable patties in the Air Fryer – delicious both cold and hot

  • Homemade snack rolls with cheese or vegetables

  • Pasta salad or rice dishes made in 10 min in the Multicooker – perfect as a base

2. Freeze in portions and always have something ready

While you're at it, make larger batches and freeze them in small containers or bags. That way, you'll always have something ready for a busy morning – and you can let the Multicooker and Air Fryer do most of the work:

  • Rice and pasta → cook quickly and easily in the Multicooker and can be used in salads or wraps, for example

  • Vegetables → steam in the Multicooker or bake until crisp in the Air Fryer, perfect as fillings for sandwiches and wraps

  • Chicken or meatballs → cook easily in the Air Fryer and make delicious, protein-rich additions to packed lunches

3. How to make packed lunches exciting (and child-friendly)

It doesn't have to be elaborate – a little can make a big difference:

  • Use silicone moulds or small containers for variety

  • Cut fruit and vegetables into sticks or fun shapes

  • Include little surprises – such as a homemade muffin or dip

Extra tip: Get the children involved

Children love joining in, and when they've chosen and packed their own lunch, it's more likely to get eaten.
→ Make a regular list of ideas they can choose from.
→ Pack together in the evening – and make it an enjoyable habit.
